How we select our staff
Here at Winchmore Hill, we are dedicated to delivering the highest level of care to your children, so take our recruitment process for staff very seriously. Our team are highly skilled and passionate about their roles and share our values and goal to deliver the very best care as a nursery. We place the utmost care on selecting the highest quality applicants, so you can be sure your child is always in the best hands.
When it comes to our recruitment process, we look for staff who share the same core values as Winchmore Hill and who have a true passion to help children learn and thrive at nursery. We look for genuine caring characteristics and people with a natural ability to communicate with children in a positive and friendly way. We of course also only employ staff with the relevant skills and qualifications for the role. We will only consider applicants who are qualified at Level 3 or above and our teachers need to have a degree in their subject area.
The recruitment process at Winchmore Hill Nursery
We have a process that we follow when recruiting new staff to ensure we only employ the most dedicated, qualified and genuine staff. The process consists of:
- Pre-interview screening
- Face to face interviews
- Trial sessions working with children in our nurseries
- DBS checks
- Reference checks
Once we have selected an applicant to join the team, we continue to provide support and mentoring to ensure they follow and meet our high standards. We also make sure they fit in to their role and feel comfortable in their new job role. All of our new starters will be given a six-month probationary period, so we can ensure they are fully able to carry out the role. During this period, they will be supported in understanding all policies and procedures and the Winchmore Hill curriculum.
On-going support for our staff
We are dedicated to providing our staff with continuous support throughout their time with us at Winchmore Hill. We are committed to continuous development and improvement, as we want all of our staff to reach their full potential and be a valuable member of the team.
After our staff probation period, we will provide on-going training, support and guidance to ensure they are always growing and developing in their roles.
